VION to sell off Belgian retail operations
VION Retail has signed a declaration of intent for the sale of its Belgian retail operations to the management of VION Retail België. VION Retail arrived at its decision after the closure of the butcher’s shops within a large Belgian retail formula. As a result, the size of retailing operations in Belgium is now limited to 35 outlets in supermarkets and butcher’s shops. The planned sale will take place on 1 January 2007. Jean-Marc Verwee (general manager), Alain Soyez (finance and administration manager) and Rik Jaeken (external administrator) have jointly purchased 100% of shares.
